I talked to Hadi. He will remove the error for not selecting an EST database.

You should be able to still submit data without ESTs, as long as you already have an HMM model for SNAP or one of the other gene prediction algorithms. Although it is possible that the webservice is throwing an error when no EST data is submitted (Hadi can answer this, he is Cc'ed on the e-mail). MAKER itself does not absolutely require EST data to run correctly.

I recently registered for the online MAKER beta version. I do not have reliable EST information for the genes I would like to annotate, but your beta version appears to require EST data to annotate nucleotide sequences. Is there any way to submit a nucleotide sequence for annotation by MAKER without EST data?

Thanks,
